Where the town came from, and the family of storytellers behind it.
The Roots of Sleepy Hollow
Robert Yance Newton
Robert Yance Newton, the pen name of Hardy Cave, loved telling stories inspired by his family, childhood, and the people he remembered growing up with. To share those stories, he created a small tabletop publication called Granny’s Sleepy Hollow Rooster, followed by a self-published collection titled “The Book”. His stories, poems, and writings, along with contributions from family and members of his community, became the foundation of Sleepy Hollow Publishing. He planted the roots of the wonderful tree now known as Sleepy Hollow.
The Branches of Sleepy Hollow
Duane H. Cave
Duane Cave chose not only to preserve his father’s stories but to build upon them. Inspired by the people and places of his hometown of St. Helens, Oregon, he imagined an entire town called Sleepy Hollow. What began as a publishing name became a living world filled with memorable characters, traditions, adventures, and stories that continue to grow with each new generation of readers.
